Store to Door is a nonprofit organization that enhances opportunities for aging adults to live independently in the Twin Cities metropolitan area by providing grocery and prescription delivery services. We serve on average 1,300 clients per year with our average client being female, 84 years old. We believe people should age with dignity and we work to enhance their ability to live independently with our grocery delivery service.
URGENT NEED FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE: Last year we added 199 new and reactivated clients in Dec/Jan. Increasing our volunteer base is key to increasing our ability to serve additional elderly clients
Volunteer Shoppers work in partnership with five metro Cub Foods to shop client orders and prepare them for delivery. Store To Door paid staff deliver groceries directly into our clients homes. Do you enjoy shopping? Walk with purpose, gain friends and help people stay independent. Please consider grocery shopping for the homebound elderly for 2-4 hours twice per month or on a weekly basis. Volunteer Grocery Shoppers hours 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Grocery Shoppers are urgently needed at the St Paul Midway Cub Store (Shopping on Tues, Wed, Th, Fri) and shoppers needed at the Maplewood Cub Store (Shopping on Th, Fri), and the Bloomington Cub Store (Shopping Tues, Th).
Volunteer Order Takers call clients each week entering their order online into our order database. Enjoy the telephone? Are comfortable with computer online work? Please consider Volunteer Order Taking for one hour a week with two clients per week or four total. Please consider this a one year commitment. This helps you to know the client’s grocery interests and provides stability. Each volunteer order taker helps Store To Door serve an additional four clients (two every other week). Online training module is now available!
